At the bottom of the screen, you will see several icons and at the very bottom right corner of the screen, you will see an Account (Person) icon.
Tap the Account icon.
On the next screen, you will see 6 sections – Free Stocks, Investing, Transfers, Statements & History, Settings and Help.
Tap Investing.
On the Investing Screen, you will see your Portfolio value and when you scroll down, you should see several options – Deposit Funds, View Recurring Investments, Edit Dividend Reinvestment, Option Settings, Turn on Margin, Day Trade Settings, etc.
Tap Turn on Margin.
On the next screen, Robinhood will ask for your confirmation to opt in to Margin.
It will also show the Interest rate you will pay for the margin you use.
If you would like to proceed with Margin Investing, tap Turn on Margin.
On the next screen, Robinhood will confirm whether your account is suitable for Margin Investing. It includes checking your investment profile and confirming your account balance.
Federal regulations require you to have $2000 in your account to be suitable for investing on margin. If your account balance is less than $2000, you will be given an option to deposit additional funds to bring the account balance to $2000. Margin Investing is an optional Gold feature which allows you to borrow money from Robinhood for Investing.
