How to Set Up Automatic Investments on Vanguard

- Open the website at investor.vanguard.com on your desktop computer or laptop.
- Click Log In.
- Log in with your username and password.
- Once you’re logged in, you will see several options at the upper part of the screen. Click on the option that says My Accounts.
- Then, a dropdown list will appear. There, you will see a section for Buy & Sell. Click on Buy & Sell.
- On the page, you will see a section for Vanguard Mutual Funds.
- Under Vanguard Mutual Funds, you will see an option for Set Up an Automatic Transaction. Click on Set Up an Automatic Transaction.
- On the page, you will see several options. Click on Automatic Investment.
- Once you clicked on Automatic Transfers, you will be directed to the page, mainly on the Investments tab. Here, you will see two Add Automatic Transaction button. To proceed, click on either of the two.
- Now, select the account you wish to invest into.
- After selecting an account, enter all the necessary information such as the From account, frequency, the beginning and end date, total amount to invest per month, and select how you wish to allocate the investment.
- Also, you will see a section that offers investing for a settlement fund; specifically, the Vanguard Federal Money Market Fund. It seeks to provide current income while maintaining liquidity and a stable share price of $1. For more details, click on the Information icon. However, this is just optional.
- Once you’ve entered all the necessary information, click on Continue.
- Now, review the following details.
- After reviewing and if everything looks good, click on Submit.
